181 Things to do on the Moon
in case you find yourself somehow wake up the next day in the moon, nasa has released a list of what to do things in the moon.
most of them are to me a bunch of giberish that i wouldnt ever do or understand, but i tried to read thru and see if i could find something interesting that i can try. here goes:
1. Make precise measurements of the Moon's position to test Einstein's theory of general relativity. - i thought i could do this just because i share the same name w/ mr. e.
2. Detect and monitor Near Earth Objects (NEO) to discover threats to the Earth and Moon.
- this is just like monitoring UFO, so i think i can do it, but then again i never see any flying objects except when my mom....uhmm nevermind.
3. Perform lowfrequency radio astronomy observations of the Sun to improve our understanding of space weather.
- does walkie-talkie count?
4. Create solid Earth, topography, altimetry, tomography, and vegetation map.
- this will prove whether you can see the great wall of china from the moon or not.
5. Monitor Earth's "hot spots" to detect and monitor volcanic activity.
- i usually monitor a different 'hot spot'...
6. Study meteorite impacts on the Moon to understand the early Earth history and origin of life.
- i thought the apollo 8 astronauts were clear to quote genesis 1
7. Understand the fundamental biological and physiological effects of the lunar environment on human health and the fundamental biological processes and subsystems upon which health depends to understand the longterm human response to the lunar environment.
- i definitely can do this, n we'll see what a couch potato will become in the moon.
8. Understand the impact of extreme isolation on individual psychological health and group dynamics to ensure the long-term health, safety, and productivity of crews.
- i think my gf would like this one.
9. Study mammalian reproduction in different gravity environments to understand the impact of gravity on reproduction.
- umm... mile high club?
10. Provide leisure activities to support the psychological health of those living on and visiting the Moon.
- umm... mile high club?
11. Implement a secure, reliable, robust, interoperable and scalable telecommunications capability to support expanding telecom needs of exploration operations.
- satellite tv
12. Establish highbandwidth communications that support public engagement activities.
- Internet, will al gore claim he invented internet on the moon also?
13. Establish tracking capabilities to assist vehicles in cislunar space and mobile surface systems in determining their position and velocity.
- gps
14. Engage the commercial sector throughout lunar strategy development to embed them in all current and future aspects of lunar activities.
- eBay
15. Sell tourist trips to the Moon to generate revenue.
- fly me to the moon, and let me live among the stars
well, thats as far as i can read it. its just overwhelming, but who knows its a new frontier, perhaps the pioneers will be the next rockefeller of the moon.
